Fabric testing

Today I decided to test the wing fabric on my plane. The fabric is made of dacron sail fabric. Polyester fabric. It is strong and light. But it is sensitive to UV deteration from the sun. The wing is painted whit a paint mixed whit aluminium paste. Still it ages, depending on how many hours it has been in the sun.
In my bible, Ac43-13, it is described how to test the fabric. I had to cut out a piece of the top wing, clean the test piece, and clamp it in the ends. Then I used some weights and started to load the fabric until it broke.

One piece from the top of the wing and one from the bottom. The top piece is weakened, but it has to be able to take a load of 35lb/inch (15kg/25,4mm) to pass the test.
It did pass the test. I was able to load 19kg before it snapped of.

And here it is breaking on 19kg load.

I can fly safe with these sails. I just need to repair the holes.

AKKA2 work update.

Got some work done on the akka2 today. I got the body apart in small pieces. The wings are still untouched. .

Sunday labors

our neighbour Christer had a firm who sells firewood, so we bought a big container stuffed whit 16 square meters of firewood.

First we used the wheelbarrow… Then we went over to the car trailer. It takes about 20minutes each trailer of 1,5 m2.

After 2turns, we needed some fika (brake).

Honeymoon 2

The journey continues. 9/9-12
So we now know what a 4stared hotel in Pisa is like… I do not need to tell you more.
We went to Pisa for that tower everybody is talking about, me myself only relates this to Superman, when he is pushing it straight… Anyway, this is how it looks like.

After that we drove on. Passing by a Airport.

And we got to take a bath. The water was warm and nice.

The driving started to be really interesting, because the nature turned into green colours and very amazing.

We forgot to take pictures because it was so much to see.

At late evening, we arrived to a nice bed and breakfast up on a hill. Again the drive was crazy, but now because it was in the mountain and the roads were like rally roads.
The bed and breakfast was unique.

Hello Milano, here we came! 10/9-12
But first let stop and have a look at a big shopping centre.

We went to Castelanza after that, and had a icecream. Cata did her school practice here for 8years ago. She was excited and happy to see this nice place again.

The Bed and Breakfast outside Milano was also nice.
On the evening we took the car in to Milano, after all, we have full insurance on the car…
